
Opening the bridge
The Millennium footbridge connecting
Newcastle and Gateshead quaysides. It's not like the one in
London, which
wobbles - this is much more spectacular. The whole footbridge
rises up on cables to allow shipping to pass underneath. On this
day a small French navy ship was joining its comrade on the quayside.
